Exclamation E-Brake.... Help me Please!!!

i have a 1993 Cavy and the E-brake doesnt really work, even if u pull it all the way to the top, it barely holds if any at all... i kno some people say that u dont need your ebrake in a 5spd but i would like to have it working because i dont like to leave it in gear every time i park.... btw i have almost no knowledge of the braking system, so if u could write it step by step.. i would really appreciate it... Thx for any help...

Re: E-Brake.... Help me Please!!!

Remove one, or better, both of your rear wheels, then pull the drum off, you can see the brake shoe (pad) and it's condition. If your pad has less than 1/16 inch then it's probably time to change them. If they have more than 1/4 inch left, your e-brake cable is stretch and will need adjustment.
