83 backfire

i dont really kno 12As that good but my rx7 backfires like a mother everytime i shift to second gear. does anyone know why thank you

uuuuh ... put the STOCK exhaust back on maybe ? i know my buddy's turbo II belches fire when you give it hell with just a downpipe on it. otherwise i'm not sure, i think it has something to do with an overage of fuel going down the pipe and igniting causing the loud BANG.... esp with some revv's on it
