high oil pressure
what is going on when the oil pressure gauge rises to max when accelerating and drops to 30-40 when idiling?

30 to 40 is great oil presure at idle. When your RPMs raze so will your oil presure. If you think you have a gauge problem I would change the sending unit. |

well I am trying to figure out some engine noise (squeeking). the oil pressure hasn't been that high until about 2 months ago. when I am driving regular the pressure gauge reads 80+. I am wondering if the oil is not getting to all the places it needs to.

My truck did this same thing while under warranty. I expected the worst, but they replaced the pressure sending unit and it fixed the problem. Might look into this.
