Exclamation plz help 1995 2.0 jetta

pls help 1995 2.0 jetta runs good sometimes like junk others hesitation at 3000-4000 rpm when i acc car get louder but it gos slow clutch is not sliping just no power lot of noise what is the deal oh yeah back bumper turning black at tail pipe has flow master no cat cold air intake new fuel filter 97 octane gas new plugs wires dis cap roter button cant fig it out someone tell me somthing plz

Try checking the coolant temp sensor on the upper radiator hose flange. 2000-3000 Ohms cold, 200-300 Ohms hot.

You should not run 97 octane in a 2.0.... Sounds like your piston rings are not sealing properly. Check the compression and cylinder leakage.

You need a scanner with datastream to check the mass air flow meter. It will have to be a VAG or VAG-COM scanner.
