ahh...knock sensor replacement. it is located under the upper plenum.

this is a tricky job on the Z32, as the Upper Plenum is a pain in the a**. it can be done if you have the right tools and know how, but if you have no experience with cars...it will not be fun, easy, or quick. Though once you get the upper plenum off, it is smooth sailing.

if you need extra help...i can scan the pages out of my Service Manual so you do not have to spend $100+ on something you only need 2 pages out of.

Re: Knock Sensor Replacement Help

Not even sure where that sensor is! But you can buy some electrical/sensor cleaner at Autozone/Pep-Boys or equivalent to try that out first I guess...

Re: Knock Sensor Replacement Help

yeah, i would try cleaning the electrical connection first to see if that is the problem, because it would be a huge pain in the ass to replace it as you have to remove the upper plenum. i have removed the upper plenum before and it definitely is not for a beginner.

Re: Knock Sensor Replacement Help

Looks pretty much like my design... Aside from the Throttle Body location.

I'm integrating in Individual Throttle Bodies... Basically the Plenum will act as a Surge Tank, holding the boost. When each Cylinder needs a sip, it get what it needs.

The design I have right now, has Twin Super Sequential Blow-Off Valves mounted on the side of the plenum... It looks pretty mean on the computer screen right now, hopefully I'll be able to actually build it some day
