Does anyone know how big a deal it is to replace my speedo cable?? I have a 99 Elantra and the speedo just stopped working. I have checked the VSS it is fine. The cable appears to have broke is there any advise in installing a new one?? My Elantra is manual transmission

On a scale of 1-10 it looks like a 5. At least what it shows in Hyundai Webtech.
Select your model, then select Shop tab, then open up the Transaxle/Transmission folder. TS out

Re: Spedometer Cable
Hey TS
Thanks for the info. Turns out to be pretty easy you have to take most of the console off and get in behind the instrument cluster took me about an hour to do, and saved a bunch of dough!! |

Re: Spedometer Cable
Just a quick note on the above job after checking the VSS to find it was fine. We found the cable to be busted. Quick fix works fine now.
