Turning OFF Daytime Running Lamps

I have a 2000 Yukon Denali. I am trying to find a way to turn off those daytime running lamps. I know that on the newer models you can push in and out the dome light button and it will turn them off, but that doesnt work on my year model. Any ideas anyone?

Re: Turning OFF Daytime Running Lamps

On my 2000 Yukon, I can turn off the DRL by pressing the dome light switch (near the headlight switch) 4 times very quickly. You will hear a chime if you do it right. Pressing 4 times again, will turn them back on.

Re: Turning OFF Daytime Running Lamps

You know...everyone tells me to try that...I dont know if its just something that doesnt work on my year model or what. I know you said you have a 2000Yukon...and I know the Denali is the same thing, except for some of the dressings....but, that doesnt work on mine. Does anyone know anything else that can be done. I know that on the 2000 Tahoe you can clip the "Pink" wire underneath the dash and it will turn them off....Does it work on the Denali also?

Re: Turning OFF Daytime Running Lamps

I have not tried it on a Denali but it works on my 2000 Yukon and my neighbors 2001 Suburban. You really need to push the button pretty fast and you have to do it 4 times.

I'm assuming that 2000CAYukon has a new body style Yukon.

Light Gomez has the older body style (2000 Denali was OBS). There might be a difference on how they are tuned off between the changeover year.

Yes I have the new body style. I thought he had the same body style.

Sorry for the confusion.

Re: Turning OFF Daytime Running Lamps

OK, I found this http://www.nordicgroup.us/drl/

Scroll down and it tells how to disable DRLs on a 99 (older body style).
