Engine mod suggestions

hey.....im a new owner of an 96 mx-3 gs.....after buying it i dont have much money at all left......i dont intend to do a whole engone swop....however i would like to try to get a little more juice out of it.....does anybody have any suggestions for "cheap" mods that could help me out................thanx

well if you plan on swapping the motor, you'll wanna stick to the basic mods that will interchange onto the KL motor. Such as Cold Air Intake, Exhaust, and Ignition for starters.

hmmm.

yah thats basicaly what i thought...im not to keen on the technical car stuff (im trying to get better) do you have any suggestions on specific intakes? what is this ignition thing about?? (see what i mean<<<) heh...thanks

Look into an Integra Cold Air kit. 1990-1993 model. It can be easily modified to fit an MX3. Here's what it looks like on my car to get an idea of how to modify it to fit:



As for ignition... MSD sells good ignition kits. I would save my money to get a KL-ZE though. but since you dont wanna swap I guess not hehe

depending on smog regulations in your area, you could gut the catilytic (sp?) converters. And get a cold air kit, even cheap ones on e-bay will work, but you will have to mod them. You'd feel the difference of these two mods. (not alot of difference, but you will feel it)
