Question CRV on the beach

Took my 2002 CRV onto the beach. All was going well till I went through some deep sand and the vacuum pump which controls the all wheel drive system came off its mounts. Had to disconnect all that I could and cut one hose to reach my destination. I discovered that the unit was rubber mounted and the holes in the metal frame are larger that the bolt that holds it on the vehicle. There was no damage to the vacuum pump. The frame system which holds it was twisted. I re-installed the unit after some straightening of the metal frame. Has anyone else checked the unit under there CRV? I checked the 2005 and they redesigned it so that it was bolted hard to the body of the car.

Re: CRV on the beach

I have no advice, but that sucks about what happened. I take my CR-V on the beach often and will be a little more careful from now on...
