Unhappy !998 Grand am 2.4

My grand am turns over sorta like a sewing machine and I think its the timing. It just rolls over like nothing there. I have never done an overhead cam. Is this very hard? Does this sound like the timing chain?
See oil started leaking from the front of the motor and then this. Do you think it is related in any way?

an easy fix if its a timming chain/belt thing. may have damaged other things though. Like the valves or at worse it could be a broken crankshaft. Something like this will probley involve a tare down of the motor. Have you check the starter? I would start on the small stuff first, before u start buying parts u wouldnt need.

All the quad motors are an interference fit, meaning that if you break the timing chain the valves hit the pistons, bending valves and damaging pistons. Every one of these that I have seen that have done that we end up replacing the motor as its easier, cheaper and faster.
