cig lighter and radio

I really need to keep my phone charged -- I was going to buy a new lighter shell until I found out there was no power plugged to it.
I read on another thread that the lighter and the stereo shre the same circuit. My problem is I have an aftermarket stereo and I cannot find the plug for the lighter any ideas?

If this is a 95 Metro, this is how I did it.

Unlatch the glove box. There is a cable that clips together that is attached to the cig lighter. Unclip the old, replace the new.

Mine does not hook into my headunit.
