Re: intercooler

Your intercooler will not cause you to overheat. It will actualy keep the temps while drivng down a bit.

The peice on the drivers side (the IC exit pipe) goes to the throttlebody elbow. That elbow connects to the TB, then to a spacer, then to the UIM.

You go front mount and you WILL experience some problems if your coolant system is not up to the task.

Re: intercooler

A V-mount can be worse than a front moutn if not done properly.

For the system to work to its fullest you need to have a vented hood to aloow air to pass through the IC and out the hood. Alot of cars have this setup, but they do not properly do it. They simpley have a vented hood and a V mount. In this case you have alot fo heat soak in the IC and woudl benifit better from a front moutn setup.

The way to fixx this is to build a containment box around the ic and have it seal around the hood vent. This sheild it from heat and directs air flow through the setup. Same thing can apply to the rad.

So if you go V mount it requires ALOT of work and fabrication.

Re: intercooler

same thing applies to FD's. I see all these people running around with there pre-made V mount setup. When in actual fact they wodul have been better off running a front mount because there is no ductiong and no exit for the flow of air though the IC so it just cavitates int he engien bay and heat soakes. :P
