1994 grand am gt cooling fan problem

When my radiator cooling fan turns on, the service engine light comes on and the motor begins to sputter while coasting and acts like it loses power around 2000 rpms when i rev it up while in park. Is this an electrical problem or an engine problem. Your help is appreciated.

Your cooling fan is controlled by the ecm. Have autozone pull the codes for you and see what the problem is.
