Oil filter question.
OK..I've been driving few 4 years and have wracked up about 200K miles in those times. Whenever I've gotten an oil change on my other vehicles, the filter I purchase always looks like a "tin can". Now, went to Walmart, said they didn't have the filter for the Olds. I was more than a little angry. Later, that day went to advance to by a filter. I was surprised when I opened the box and did not see a filter, but rather a cartridge. Do Auroras always get a whole new filter (outer houseing and the filter inside. or, do Aurora's keep the housing and have the cartridge changed instead? Sry if it's a little confusing.

Re: Oil filter question.
the 3.5 engine uses that filter cartrdge that goes inside the engine from the bottom, the 4.0 uses the more common and reasonably priced tin can ,spin on type. gm also uses a costly similar paper type on their 2.2 ecotec engines...
