Angry 94' Grand Am HELP!!!

My 94' Grand Am sounds like im in neutral around 30 mph. when i push in the gas peddel to accelerate it doesn't accelerate insted it reves and sounds like its in neutral and it coasts. but thats only sometimes like today i drove it and it didn't do it but it always comes back and does it. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

is this an automatic or manual? Have you checked the fluid levels?

its an automatic and the transmission fluid is burnt

you could try a new transmission filter and fluid. If its to far gone then this probley wouldnt fix it. May need a new trany.

that happened to me about six months ago, after i changed the fluid i didnt have any gears at all. i replaced the tranny with a used one and havent had a problem since. wasnt to sure if i could do it when i started but it turned out fine.
