sunfire no start

ok i have 2000 sunfire, worked fine until today, when i turn key there is nothing, funny noise in dash when i turn key, after trying to start many times it finally starts, shut off, does the same thing, when i turn key all lights in dash board go off fuel gauge loses power let off key all lights and fuel gauge come back on. i had in dealership for ignition recall 8 months ago. anyone experience this problem?

1997 - No Start - Power comes and goes

It turned out to be the battery cables. Might want to have them looked at.
