Ok, i was on my way to work going about 75 on the turnpike, then my front driverside tire blows its tread appart, the tread was still attached but flying around and it ripped off my front bumper, corner light, and somehow it managed to grab my hood cable and ripped it right out of the car!
In the inside of the car the hood popper bracket is bent, and part of the cable is there but its ripped, i cant even find the rest of the cable anywere. SO NOW HOW DO I OPEN MY HOOD WITH OUT THE CABLE!? any help would be great.

Re: Bad Day, how do i get my hood open without a cable?
find the cable in the wheel arch or where ever it is. Get a pair of pliers and yank it on the metal cable.
Presto: access to engine bay!

Re: Bad Day, how do i get my hood open without a cable?
damn dude that must blow big time.
Well look on the driver side of the fender, you can take off the fenter, i know your hood is closed and cant get to it, and you said "THERE IS NO CABLE THERE" right?.....I know this since it happened to me before where i couldnt get the hood open... last thing i would resort to is if your front bumeper is removed, you should easly be able to pop it open from the radiator support looks like a "T" right in the middle theres latch if you can pull the lever use a flat head. It will take a couple of try's to get it open, once you do, consider hood pins, or if you want to get a new cable latch for the hood popper.....GL |
