Hi
I was wondering if someone else has had the same problem that I am having or have any advice for me. I have a 1999 chevrolet cavalier, 62,000 miles. I was having a having a hard time to get it to crank, at first it would quit, then over a 1-2 week period it started getting harder to crank, it would crank but not want to turnover. Once I get it started, it runs fine, no missing or anything. Well, I decided to take it and have it put on a computer at an auto parts store, it showed up as it needed a crank shaft position sensor. I bought the sensor and changed it and its still doing the samething. Does anyone think that the timing could be off? or some problems with the timing? thanks a bunch if anyone has been through this that can help me! |

Re: crankshaft position sensor or timing
sounds like your starter could be bad...take it off and have your local auto parts store test it. i just had the same problem on my 03 taurus.
i also have a problem with my cavalier...1988, it runs great, just had a problem cutting out (not missing) just a quick burst of stutters. then yesterday it just stuttered then stopped...now she turns over...and over....and over...not even stumbling to a start. anyone know where the ignition module is on this thing?
