looking into a 1g gsx

High guys I have not been here in a long time and alot has changed. Well I am getting ready to sell my rs because the local oval track here is now open to everyone. So I want to buy a fast eclipse that has more modding potential. I found one seems to be in good shape. The owner said that it has a small overboosting problem not sure what it is I have not looked at it yet. Well what do you guys think.http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...sp=y&cardist=1

$3k is a little steep IMO.

The ONE picture is really shitty, you can barely see the car, and wtf does he mean when he says it has an "overboost" problem? Does he even know what he's talking about?

Re: looking into a 1g gsx

I would have around 2 grand to spend on it if i could get it for 2000. Would i be able to make this a daily driver and a tuner. I have learned quite a bit about these cars but still not sure I have also learned that they are faster then 2g eclipse they also have a 14b which can be swapped directly for a 16g. But will this car be able to handle driving me to school and back 5 days a week.

Re: looking into a 1g gsx

I think as long as it's not heavily modified you should be fine using it as a daily driver, my talon was my daily driver til it took a shit on me.

Re: looking into a 1g gsx

At 118k miles it is no where near a rebuild. And that is very low mileage for a 1g, so 3000 is not an unreasonable price unfortunately... That picture is completely useless though, and there is very little information about the condition of the car and any work it needs or has had done recently.

I daily drove my 2g deep into the 11s with about 35,000 miles per year, but do that at your own risk A relatively stock car should be pretty reliable.

The picture is so shitty you can't really go by it. I would laugh so hard if they were painted gold though.
