Re: key having trouble turning?

I have never had any problems with my alero's ignition (except the key slides in and out easy, car on or off). But my old car, once I coudn't get the key to turn. I called my locksmith, and he arrived, sprayed wd40 where the key goes in, wiggled the key in and out about 10 times, and it was good to go again.

How do you know the tumblers are bad? Heck, i dont even know what a tumbler is, but whats with the "???" we are just trying to help, calm down buddy.

Re: key having trouble turning?

Sorry about that. The reason i say its the tumbles because he states that the key does not turn that well or goes in hard, well the conclution that i came to that atleast made sence to me would be the tumblers. if the tumblers are not in a certon position, then the key will not turn. thats my thinking atleast. sorry about that before.

Re: key having trouble turning?

I life in Greenfield, 20 miles north of holyoke, I go there quite often as my ladyfriend goes to umass amherst and wants to go to the mall quite often.

quick question....my key goes in and out of the ingnition real easy, even when the car is running, could this somehow leave me stranded someday as the key might stop working?
