GSR tranny

So ive decided on buying a GSR B18C around may or june. Im ordering from Hmotors online and plan on converting my AT 96 civic Lx to 5spd with the supplied tranny. Is the tranny swap too difficult for the weekend mechanic? I assume it involves cutting and probably welding new brackets.

Re: GSR tranny

I did mine in a day and a half, lots of hours spent not sleeping though, the only thing I cut/welded was the mount on the car itself because I wanted to use the OEM manual trans mount from my parts car. 180 bucks could have gotten me a bolt on part form hasport. also where the torque-rod/shift-rod setup bolts to the tunnel, had to drill those 2 holes and use nut and bolt. after you bolt it pup I recommend tack-welding the nuts to the tunnel so when you evewr need to remove it it will be so much easier. there is also somw wiring but I took the complete dash harness from my parts car. the clutch master cylinders hole was already there and just plugged up. bolt holes for the hangers for the clutch hardline are already in place as well. it isnt really ever a hard project, just an involved one with lots of little details you have to deal with.
