need nissan owners opinions am I a sellout

Alright let me explain my situation I have a 1999 nissan sentra that has a few performance mods but mostly cosmetic mods. I have 2,000 dollars saved up. I have 6 companies interested in sponsoring me right now and they are all performance sponsors except for one but their giving me 4 bucket racing seats so fuck it lol. Anyway I realized that the only way I can get full sponsorships from all these companies is to make a show car first. Which means you know predator hoods and projector headlights and big rims you know the show car look. I already have a body kit and the starting point that i want to use but.... Would it make me a sell out if I just spent all my money on looks right now and had a pretty slow car... I do have nitrous but it's not tttoo fast you know. What I want to do is make my car a show car first, than go for speed and handling. I have suspension sponsors and sponsors that make headers and turbos that want to sponsor me what do you think? Make my car a show car with the 2,000 I have OR spend it all on performance and say fuck the sponsors??? My current plan is to spend all of it on show parts and get sponsored with the speed and suspension

Re: need nissan owners opinions am I a sellout

seriously i am one of the most diehard speed addicts and i hate show cars with a passion but i would say do what you want
fuck what other people think
if you think you will have lots of fun showing it, then by all means do it.
if you want to race, then you obviously need to make comprimises in other areas.
if someone thinks you are a sellout for following your passion then they dont give a shit about you and really dont know what they are talking about.

but i do still hate show cars, dyno queens, trailer trash, cars that dont get driven to their potential just arent real cars in my book...

Re: need nissan owners opinions am I a sellout

I wouldn't say so. Some people like to have a car that is good on looks to get attention. Others like to be not as noticeable, but quick. Then there is the people that like to do both. Eitherway, its up to you. People will like to ride in the show car rather than the fast because it looks better and things. I don't think your a sell-out, just make sure u don't forget about the performance part or you will, after all, its a Nissan.

dont drop another dime into your engine, if you can build that thing up enough to win some shows and make some noise, your sponsors may be willing ot help you with an engine swap to balance your speed/looks ratio......

I would look at you as a sell out. If you had to mod the extrior to get sponsor that will provide you performance parts to mod the engine you've got the best of both world in my book. At least your car could walk the walk and talk the talk.
