Help!!! (again)

Not sure why my last message didn't post, but here it is again:

I've got a 76 Ford F-250, with a 360. I ran out of gas a few months ago, and every since then, my truck dies very often. It acts like it's out of gas. I can usually pour a little gas in the carb, and it'll start right up.
I've already replace the fuel filter twice, and the last one looked like new coming out.

I've replaced the fuel pump, but hasn't changed at all.

Cleaned the crap outta the carb and my wife did the gas treatment (yeah....that's her solution to every vehicle problem....).

It sat at my mechanics for two days, before he gave up. He had no clue...

What do I do next?

Thanks,

Rick

There should be a filter sock in the tank on the pick up. Have you replaced that?

Also have you checked for leaks between the tank and the fuel pump? If you get a pin hole in a line, you won't have a disasterous leak, but it will suck enough air to cause a problem.

Re: Help!!! (again)

I agree with tireburner, check for leaks and if not check that sock on the pick up tube. Chances are if you ran it out of fuel on a older vehicle it has picked up rust or sediment from the bottom of the tank. Just a quick question- the new fuel pump that you replaced did it look the same as far as the lever lenght and design went. Another thing comes to mind. Maybe there is second fuel filter that may have been added at some time? Check that may also be your blockage. Keep us informed.
