Hello,
I have a 96 avalon and I am trying to get the rear right door panel off so I can replace one of the blown speakers. I am having trouble getting the door panel off b/c there are two little plugs I cant get to come out of the door ( i have unscrewed all the screws). Has anyone replaced speakers in their 96 Avalon before or taken the door panel off that has any suggestions so I can replace the speaker? Thanks for your help. |

Re: 96- avalon need to get rear door panel off.
ok, I figured out how to get the door off, the pins that i was having problems with...I just had to push in the middle of them and the came out. cool. Now, does anyone know what size the rear avalon speakers are? I need to replace one of mine that is blown and was hoping to find a cheap one on Ebay or maybe at a junkyard. Thanks.

Re: 96- avalon need to get rear door panel off.
They are 4". I replaced all 4 of mine with infinity 4002i bit there was too much treble. My 97 dont have the woofer or anything on the rear deck. so I used 2 of the good original speakers in the rear doors with 2 infinities in the front, and put a small (100 watts) subwoofer in the trunk. MUCH BETTER!

Re: 96- avalon need to get rear door panel off.
Joe w. (or anyone that has taken their front door off on the 96 Avalon) Once I get all the screws and pins taken off, the front (passenger) door still wont come off, what am I missing- it sticks right where the electric window stuff is. anyone know?

Re: 96- avalon need to get rear door panel off.
The r/f door comes off like the others. Is it stuck tight, or maybe like a piece of plastic is stuck on it? On my 97, there is nothing else holding it.
