I was hopeing to find some information online about how to install this. I bought my 93 grand am about 4 months ago from a friend. She had a CD player put in but took it out before i bought it. Her old wires are still there and I am not sure how to connect the new wires, or even disconnect the old! Please help!

welcome to AF, hazel.
JVC may have downloadable info on your stereo on their website. Sony, Pioneer, and Kenwood do this (on newer units) WalMart, AutoZone, and BestBuy or Circuit City all have harness adapter kits you can purchase, so as to not have to cut any of the factory wiring. this helps you (if you decide to take out that radio for another), and it helps if you sell (the new owner won't have a hacked-up harness with unknown wires). if you already have your stereo, some Best Buys, Circuit Citys, and others will make an appt. just to swap yours for usually less than $40. plus any harnesses needed to install. if you haven't bought a unit, or are looking to upgrade, many offer free install with purchase... might be worth looking into. hope this helps, chris |
