Question Tamiya paint with duplicolor primer and duplicor clearcoat?

Hi guys,

I want to paint my S2000 camel yellow, but I can't find this paint in duplicolor automative paint. I only find it in Tamiya's spray can. Is it possible to spray duplicolor's primer, then Tamiya's camel yellow, then duplicolor's clearcoat? Does it will makes strange paint effects?

Thanks!

Thanks a lot!

I do that all the time. I use Plastic Automotive Primer, then spray TS sprays in top.

This is my S2000 in Camel Yellow -

Be VERY careful with TS Camel Yellow. It's a lovely colour, but VERY hard to apply. You need to spray three mist of yellow over white primer, and leave to dry for around 2 hours. Then a slightly wetter coat, and leave overnight. Then two further mists, leave overnight and then you can apply the final wet coat.

If you do not do this, the paint pulls away from the edges, and it looks bad. It's a tricky colour to get right.

You can see my S2000 here. It's a great kit, and a joy to build. I will buld this kit again, as I really enjoyed it. Just watch the metal transfers. They fall off easy.

Thanks mickbench,

Yeah my kit is the same as yours and I want it the same color :-(

Not very original, but this is really my favorite color for a S2000. Gonna try to be different for the interior ;-)

Don't worry abot it looking like mine, and all the rest out there. The interior is meant to be mostly black, just like the real car. I tried Red seats, and with yellow it didn't look nice.

Yellow seats might look better, but it's your model, build it as you want. But the camel yellow does look very nice, shame it's just an arse to apply correctly.
