2.6L Fuel Injected Swap and Mods
Has anyone done any modifications or swaps. The only one I can find is someone swapping in a Ford 5.0L. I got the 2.6L all tore down ready to take to machine shop for rebuild. But I am thinking about making this a serious offroad beast. Gutting it out. Throwing in a Chevrolet small block with a automatic transmission TH400 or 700 with a NP205 transfer case. There is not much room in the mazda trucks. How big is a chevy small block compared to the 4cyl in there right now. My other thoughts were D60r D44f with 4.56 gears ARB air locker 35 with bead lock rims. I am currently looking into a 4 link suspension setup. The new Extreme Offroad TV show did an episode on it with there Ford Ranger.
Whats the size difference of a 450ci compared to a small block or a 258 Jeep. What about a diesel? Thank You |

A chevy small block should drop right into the B2600, B2200, or B2000. Other than that I don't know much about the whole off road rig. A couple of people have dropped in V8s on MazdaTruckin, one or two are in the process right now. I think Pont is one of them.
