Notch In the Clutch

I think this is what my teacher told me(she only drives stick). When I drive the Celica(1984), and stop to reverse, it'll grind, and I've got to force it to go in reverse, and that's the only gear with that problem. How serious is this?

The car has been waiting for me for a while now, and I should have it on the road for good very soon.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Re: Notch In the Clutch

Are you completely stopped??? If you still move it will grind, but it shouldn't if you are totally stopped.

It's been a while since I drove it, but I'm driving it tomorrow and I'll check. I'd like to say I'm positive that I was completely stopped, but I won't since it's been awhile since I drove it.
