90 runner with starting problem finally fixed
Well after two weeks at the shop they found out i had a bad plunger. Originally they thought it was the contacts in the starter or a bad starter in general, but after replacing both i was still having the same problem. I know the problem of getting in and nothing happening outside of the dash lights working while turning the key is a common problem.

Thanks for providing that update. One question that comes to mind is Why didn't changing the starter fix the problem? Wouldn't changing the starter give you a new plunger?

I'm not sure to be honest with you. It was a rebuilt starter that i put in, but according to my guy he said the plunger wasn't coming up.

It's likely the problem with both starters were sticking solenoid contacts. The plunger would behave like that.

Well he changed the soleniod contact first and he was pretty surprised when that didn't fix the problem.
