A/c Help
I have a question i was hoping that someone can help me with. i have a 95 caravan that was given to me from my wifes aunt. she never took care of any of her vehicles and let this one go.
i am slowly trying to bring it back to being decent (had to weld the hinges for doors, replace taillights, etc.) and am now having problems with the A/C. it is no longer even cool (in fact it is just one small step from hot) and when i tried to recharge it the gauge said zero and after a short 1 second burst it went to borderline yellow. is it possible to have air in the line? maybe after shaking up the can (as per directions) no refrigerant was put into the line but propellant? does this sound like it could happen? if so what steps should i take to fix? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks. |

a/c help
If there was no cold air then I would have to assume that there was no freon in the line. If this is so, then you would have a leak somewhere which would also mean that you have air in the system. You have to take the air out of the system with a pump when putting a substantial amount of freon in. If the system has been empty for a while then moisture may have gotten in as well which could possibly corrode parts in the system as well...

Re: A/c Help
If the system is out, the A/C pump will not run.
You need the pump to be running in order to put coolant in. Time to see the A/C doctor... |
