Cheap SOHC VTEC
My friend said he would sell me his SOHC VTEC for 50 dollars but no valve cover or pistons. Anyway its out of a 92 civic EX or so he says but I thougt the VTEC only came in the si model?

Nope, VTEC comes in EX & SI ... and VX as well -- but that is tuned for fuel economy NOT performance.

Is it in good shape?? If so that's a good deal, are you putting it in your car? If not wanna sell me the complete head w/vtec solenoid without valve cover???

...the only thing you'll have to be mindful of is what ECU you use to run it...since you've got an auto, I'm guessing you've got a dx (unless you've got a sedan)...that ecu isnt going to work w/ sohc vtec... I'd guess you'd need to find the ecu out of an auto 92-95 ex...
edit: I'm a dumbass and thought this was the other sohc vtec post...sorry

If i wanted to swap a sohc vtec engine in my 4th gen. (manual) I would use a OBD-1 ecu manual right??
But, how would i get around the OBD b/c my car is NON-OBD?? thanx
