Wanting something faster.....?

I am tired of my 2001 Nissan Sentra SE. It has been good to me and is in good shape, but i originally bought it because it was safe and good to start on for a starter car. What is the Fastest car i can get for 8k. I dont want a ford/chevy though. something a 4 cylinder and manual. What do you guys say there is out there? I don't want to have to do a lot of Mods, Just minor to run fast. Can you guys help me out?

don't give up on that sentra man you have probably the best engine made in a long time. Some people on nissanforums.com consider it the best engine ever made. I would keep it and tune it man put some nitrous in it and THAN you'll have a fast car. All I'm saying is put 800 into your car and it iwll be faster than any car you can get for 8,000.... hotshot headers, hotshot CAI, nitrous, NGK spark plugs and spark plug wires, right there you got a fast ass car right there your engine could handle a 75 shot easily thats my answer lol

waste of time and money
go buy a turbo kit, 3 inch exhaust, stage 2 clutch and some good tires and boost 8-10psi and you will outrun most cars on the road for around 3k(and be waaaay faster all the time than a nitroused car)

They are right. You're not going to get a faster tuner car for 8k. Maybe you will, but it will more than likely be a POS with high mileage. A 2001 is a pretty new car and it's a Nissan to boot.(Disreguard my lemon spec v). Not to trash other cars, but Nissan has a lot more class than anything you can get for 8k. Trust me, you have a nice car, just slap some cool stuff on it and you will start to get a little less time on the track and with some easy cosmetics you will get a lot more attention. I suggest CIA, Hotshot Header, and pipes. Put that with some window tint, a small system, and some new racing rims and you will have a hell of a nice car. Might take a year or so, but I promise you won't regret it. When I drive my Spec V, I have three things that most everyday tuners don't have. Class, respect, and one great feeling drive. Stick with the sentra, dude. We've all said it and we aren't closed minded. With 8k you might as well buy a cavalier or a neon... *pukes*

I'd say, get a 95-97 200SX SE-R, a 91-96 G20, or a 99 Sentra SE-L.

you have one of the best and most reliable 4cylinder engines ever made, but if you really want a change of look, id say for 8k you could get a

FC rx7 turbo(205hp 200ftlb but they are not reliable and are a pain in the ass to work on)

92-95 prelude vtec(a very good car, and decent speed if you can find a vtec model 200hp 160ftlb, nonvtec has 155hp 145ftlb),

integra GS-R (one of the best handling FWD cars ever, but could be faster 170hp 125ftlb)

MKIII supra turbo(big, heavy, fast, not the same class of car really, inline 6 cyl turbo 250hp? 230ftlb?),

s14 240sx (nice, rwd, light, good handling, more power than your sentra, but not blazing fast, 155hp, 160ftlb)

z32 300zx N/A (same category as supra...big fast and heavy, 225hp 210ftlb)

mitsubishi eclipse GSX or GST (fast, nice looking, very tunable, gsx has AWD, first generation models had better designed engines, and were more reliable. 210hp, 200ftlb)

but after listing all these cars id still say keep your sentra and drop half of the 8k into it and it will SPANK any of these cars plus more

with that 8k in it you will be able to walk vettes and shit

lol I dont want to turn this into a nitrous vs turbo forum but look at all the crap your talking about buying. go buy a turbo kit, 3 inch exhaust, stage 2 clutch and some good tires and boost 8-10psi. Thats alot of money compared to my 800 dollar invstment lol. I mean yeah if he has about 3,500 dollars laying around thats his best bet but thats not very practical lol. Plus nitrous is betetr for your car than a turbo because a turbo is constantly on it ruins your engine way faster. Nitrous if you put a safe shot and only used it once a week compared to a turbo that comes on all the time. Thats just my opinion though

all I'm saying is everyone hates on nitrous but if you invested the 3,000 your talking about into a nitrous set up. Which for 3,000 you could make that engine take a good 150 shot pretty easily so thats 150 horespower and 150 torque thats more than any turbo is going to offer, sorry I had to throw that one in lol

I know what you guys are saying about go turbo/nitrous and things, but the main reason i want to sell it is because its in AUTO. When i go from 3500rpm in N to 1, the car gets little power right off the line abd stalls a litte because of the TCS i think, but if im rolling not even 5mph, then my launch has the pick-up that i want from it. I have 8k to spend on this car/another one. Going turbo is too much work to maintain. The car is a daily driver and will see snow/sleet/rain pretty much anything up here in Wisconsin. If there is a way to have my launch work the way when im rolling, let me know. I hate getting pulled on for the 1st 10 mph then just push ahead. Is there a LSD on the 2001 SE, or is it TCS? If its TCS, is there a way to turn it off?

O and I have a 1990 Celica All-Trac with some upgrades in my area for about 6500. it only has about 65000 miles on it. I really haven't heard if they are any good or what. I think they're awd and have like 200 hp o somethin.
