Question Need covertible top for my VW Cabrio

I have a 1995 VW Cabrio. It has the original top on it, but recently it started leaking. I took it to the VW dealership and they wanted to charge me 2000.00 for a new one. I asked them did I look like I was made out of money. If anyone knows where I can get a used one or a new one for a reasonable price, I would greatly appreciate it. I don't know what else I will need to replace it, so if you have any other information that would be helpful...I would appreciate it. I am a single woman...and I just need your help on this. Thank You.

You're lucky it's a '95 because the later Cabrios require the top + rear window to be replaced not just the outer skin

There is probably an auto upholstery shop in your area that can do the work for less money than the dealer. Check your Yellow Pages. It's not uncommon to have the dealers send this type of work out to a local shop. Ask around and you'll likely get names of businesses that can do the work, as well as opinions on who to avoid! Good luck.
