MPG figures

Should the Government take action to make all manufacturers give more realistic on road use fuel figures, instead of the assimilated one's that they use at the moment in there brochures.

They do not mean anything when you use the vehicles on the road and you don't seem to have any redress to them not coming anywhere near to what they claim.

The should be made to put down figures that have been acheived on the road and show how they where acieved. ie, in traffic 30 mpg, long journeys 40 mpg, mixed driving 35 mpg etc.

Please give me your views on this. There must be more than me who have been misled by the MPG figures shown in the brochures compared to on the road use. I am not talking a couple of miles but has much as 20 mpg difference.
