3ed gen 3SGTE into 2end gen mr2
Hi, I might be buying a 1991 mr2 shell, and i was thinking about puting a third generation motor in it, is that possible?

yeah.. people do it all the time.. but it might be easier to just find a nicely conditioned mr2 turbo and start from there

do u know if it needs any welding of any sort, or does is it just drop in, cause i cant afford an mr2 right now, so imam buy a shell, and pay it off, and then the motor, and pay that off, then have it put in for the spring

the engine drops in, but the wiring won't be fun.

Under no circumstances would I ever recommend going to a Gen III.
That being said, you will need a lot more than just the engine. You will need the wiring harness and ECU as well. If your "shell" was from the NA MR2, you are going to need a transmission, axles and gauge cluster as well.
