Any suggestions for hooking up an amp to a 96 grand am se?

Run power cord direct to a 1 or 2 farad capacitor then connect to the amp. This will maintain voltage and will prevent the battery from going dead. Run a power cable thick enough for the amps you intend to draw. Don't skimp on the power wire and make sure you intall a fuse.
