Lightbulb 85 GTS...Looking for the best swap, got sum thots

Whats the deal my people..well I have the 85 GTS coupe, RWD those of u who know. Bout to get the swap lookin into 3 engines:

-Supra, single turbo 7MGTE I can get it for about 700.00 and it comes 237hp n 240trq

or

- MR2 Twincharge 4AGZE I can get it for about 700.00 and it comes 185hp n 130trq (but u can put a turbo and supercharger on this at the same time)

or

- Trueno JDM Engine This one is about 1000.00 and it comes about 185hp n 165trq

So Im sayin which of you know which is the easiest swap, where Im from no one knows about the Corollas PERIOD, let alone any of these engines in it. Supra swap would sick but Im sure I have some work in there maybe more than I wud like, but the last 2 swaps are str8 drop ins more than likely...Well some input from some one please

Re: 85 GTS...Looking for the best swap, got sum thots

i don't think a supra inline 6 would fit.. as it is kinda long.. you could fit in a 22RE ( or 22RTE) with a t50 tranny. but you would have to tweak it ALOT to get out something decent.

your best bet is staying with a 4AG series... 16 or even a JDM 20 valve
rated at something close to 170 hp but torque won't be as good as forced induction.

a 4agze, if you can get one, it might be very intresting because , you'Re right, you can turbo it and there are ALOT of aftermarket parts for those.

and for it's weight, easy to install, and power outpout when turboed, it should be your best bet.

i'd check for that 4AGZE .. you can probably fit it with not too many problems.

Re: 85 GTS...Looking for the best swap, got sum thots

it sure would be nice but dont forget, with a supra engine, you will be putting alot of weight in the front.. and on a RWD car thats not so good for the handling. and anyway, like i said, is you mesure both the 4agze and the 7mgte you should notice that you have 2 extra cylinders.. thats ATLEAST 12 inches more plus the pulleys in front .. so if you ever did fit this in the gts, we'll see you with a busted grill in front and see 2 cylinders and pulleys sticking out :P

as for th

Re: 85 GTS...Looking for the best swap, got sum thots

I'm following in the footsteps of a few AE86 owners with mine. I'll be doing a F20C swap (S2000), if you aren't some "diehard" who thinks cross-breeding cars is blasphemy, go for it. It's not that difficult of a swap. Granted, it does take ALOT of fabwork, you have to cut and reweld the transmission tunnel, custom driveshaft, etc. It will cost more money than those other swaps as well, but the engine/tranny is perfect for the Corolla.
