ABS Light On For Years 96 Passat GLX

My ABS light has been on but I've never bothered to fix it because it would cost $1300 and it just wasn't worth it to me. Now I want to sell it and someone wanting to buy the car is worried it is a safety issue and from what I understand (from the dealership) is that it is not a safety issue other than it doesn't have ABS like most cars on the road.

Any ideas?

It won't cause any braking problems except it doesn't have ABS.
