Metalic Paint

I am preparing to paint my 1980 Malibu. I have painted several cars but never on a regular basis as to call myself expierenced. This is the first time I will be using urethane with a lot of metalic in it. It is a dark blue. I was wondering if I should be concerned about the metalic building up. And if I should paint in a certain pattern and avoid certain patterns?

I forgot to mention that the paint is Nason Line and I will be using a gravity fed Sharpe gun with a 1.4 needle. It is a middle of the line gun about $300.00 Also I will be spraying clear over the last coat.
