Need help changing rear speakers in a 98 GT
Anyone have some intructions on how to get them replaced without breaking the covers in the back deck? I was trying to pry them up but they wouldn't budge and I didn't want to break them. I call a local Pontiac dealer and the idiot they gave me suggested I just take htem out underneath in the trunk. Well, that would be great except for the DAMN STEEL BARS that won't allow that....What am I missing here. Please help as I can't listen to the cracking sound from my bad speakers any longer.....Thanks...

You have to take out the entire back seat. Then the top shelf cover with the speaker grill attached slides forward. Then you have access to the speaker screws. It's a PITA but there's no other way.
