I can! Sell it and buy a faster car. Sorry man (and everyone else who might get offended) but your car isnt going to be very fast unless you seriously lay down for it. For it a little more power intake, exhaust, and weight reduction are pretty much it. You should do a search before you post... this topics been handled many times over.

you could dump in 5 grand into a cavalier plus the 5-8 grand u paid for it and get out as much power if you bought a 11 grand or cheaper nicer car.

Re: New cavalier,Where to start?

Sure it may be easier to just "buy a faster car" but hell, doesnt it give you more satisfaction knowing you turned a pig into seabiscuit all by yourself?

Yeah, thats true, but that $1000 isnt going to go very far on a 2.2 OHV performance wise. You need deep pockets, lots of time, and lots of technical know-how to make a Cavy fast and those (money and time anyway) are somthing that most of us dont have a lot of.

Re: New cavalier,Where to start?

Some people do just happen to like Cavaliers. I like the newer ones, which is why I will be getting mine soon. You have 1000 dollars so put a cold air intake on it for sure. Im not big on sound systems as I dont like rap and dont need 1000 watts. You can put headers on too. 1000 bucks easily covers that. It wont make your car a speed demon but hey it should be somewhat different. You should notice it.

Only one dude. 4-banger, remember?

Anyway, I agree, a grand will get you a CAI and a quality header backl exhaust. If you have any leftover, some motor mounts, or a short shifter might be a good investment too.
