Caravan 2000 Horn stopped working.

I have a 2000 Caravan and yesterday my 4 years old son played with the horn. The horn got stuck for about 10-15 seconds then stopped. Never worked since.

I had the clock spring replaced last week as the result of a recall. Can it be that the new clock spring is defective or wrongly installed?

Is there someting I can do to fix the problem?

horn

I would have the dealer redo the clockspring. had the same problem with my 98 horn quit working. took some research found out it was the clockspring in the steering column. they wanted to charge me 80 bucks but i proved it was a recall item so it was free. horn worked right away and no problems since.

Thanks, I'm not sure however that this is the clock spring. Everything else linked to the clock spring (Airbag, Cruise control) works fine. Can the clock spring only cause problem with one thing?

You can check the horn relay. Basically when you push the horn switch it completes the ground to allow the horn relay main coil to pull in. When the main relay coil pulls in it passes 12 volts to the horn via the relay contacts. Find your relay, hold your fingers on it while someone blows the horn. If you feel or hear a click from that relay then your clockspring is doing its job.
You can also check your owners manual and see what other circuits use the same fuse as the horn. Are they working?
If the fuse is good and the relay clicks then you need to test for 12 volts at the horn while someone tries to blow the horn and trace back from there.

The horn still works after a while, but every time I push it, it get stuck for 10-20 seconds, stops and does't work for a while. It did it three times so far. I'm just not sure how it recativestes. The only thing I've noticed so far is that I drove the car betwen each attempt, but i canot say if there is a link.
