91 Accord EX won't start

I was hoping someone could give me an idea as to what the problem may be. I've had the car parked for the summer and only turn it on about once a week. I did use it about 3 weeks ago and the last time I turned it on was about a week and a half ago and it was fine. I go last night to turn it on and it doesn't start . It turned over fine but just wouldn't start. Since the gas was low I put some gas in it. Well now it even turns over with a different sound. Maybe because I held the ignition to long that I also messed that up. I would greatly appreaciate any help. I hope this makes sense it's just difficult wording the problem. Thanks again.

Check timing belt by looking at camshaft turning through oil filler cap. Check for spark. Maybe a fuel pump/main relay/coil/igniter. Check the easy things first then go for the hard items.

Service Connector Codes

I just jumped the service connector and it gave me some codes, only they were flashed over the "S" light which is weird because I thought that light only flashed transmission problems. Well the codes it gave me are the following:

2 - Oxygen Sensor

7- TP Sensor - Throttle Position

8 - TDC Sensor - Top Dead Sensor

Does anyone know what they mean and are does 3 things closely related. I'm trying to figure out how expensive this repair is going to be, but I still have no idea what is wrong with the car. Any help would be appreaciated.

A bad TDC sensor will keep the engine from starting. The only fix for a TDC sensor is a new distributor or something from the junk yard.

So how would that work? Would I replace TDC Sensor along with whatever made it go bad or is the sensor itself O.K. Also, what about the other sensors? Thanks for the reply by the way. I getting really worried that this is going to cost me alot of money.

When any of the 3 sensors in the distributor goes bad the only solution is to replace the distributor. I would try to reset the ECU and see if comes back. There are tests that will check to see if the ECU is pulsing the igniter. You need to do these tests.

You called it man. Took it to Pep Boys today and sure enough it was the distributor. Guy said that is usually the problem with no start Accords.

Distributor = $250.00

Labor = $50.00

It wasn't that bad since Pep Boys towed my car for free. Thanks alot guys for your replies. At the very least when I went in to the shop I told the guy what I thought the problem was, and thanks to you I was right.
