wiper motor
1999 Grand Am - The windshield wipers have stopped working. However, the wipers work when using the washing function.

Re: wiper motor
check fuses, but it sounds like the control is malfunctioning. if they work with the wash, then the motors probley not bad.

I had a similar problem with my 97 grand am se, 2.4l, 5 speed. The wipers wouldn't turn on unless I did the spray wash. What eventually worked for me was I left the wipers on accidently after I had spray washed my windshield (by habit I turn on wipers to max as I'm spray washing) and while I was diving down the road they just started working, and I have never had a problem since. Maybe it was a dirty connector somewhere, but they have worked for ~6 months now.
Good luck. |

Re: wiper motor
I have heard of the "pulse module" going bad on our cars - it controls the pulse / speeds of the wipers. It might be something to check into. Maybe do a search for it; or try buying a new module.
