resetting blinking overdrive indicator

Hi all,

I have an ailing automatic transmission in my 95 explorer xlt...The code when I took it in was something related to the 3rd gear malfunctioning/slipping... I will be driving it till it dies... when it came back from the shop for diagnostic the od light on the dash was no longer blinking at me and didn't for about 2 months... but has since restarted blinking... my question is can this light be reset to stop the blinking?

Thanks

DadGuy

Re: resetting blinking overdrive indicator

Put a piece of black tape over the light, and
just drive it.

Re: resetting blinking overdrive indicator

being a 95, its an early OBD2 system and may only be reset by a scanner/computer. sometimes you'll get lucky and be able to reset it simply by unhooking the battery

ok...two excellent suggestions...

first I'll try pulling the battery cable for a bit... if that doesn't work saperich's idea will work... black tape it will be...haha...

Thanks much
