Unhappy 3RD Gen again

Again if anyone knows of a 3rd gen (82~85) celica that is a coupe, equiped with a 5spd and is in the So Cal area, hit me up please! [email protected] . I've even resorted to leaving notes on other peoples celicas if they would sell them.

Re: 3RD Gen again

I have enough money to get a 3rd gen and get a engine swap done professionally. Plus 3rd gens are RWD, weigh around the same as a civic hb. Not to mention that the 22RE is 2.4L cast iron motor, swapping to a 2ZZ will make the front a bit lighter. I'm shooting for 2000~2100lbs with mods and such. But I just need the friggin car =(

Re: 3RD Gen again

the 6th gen st only weighs 2320 (curb)...the 7th gen gt weighs just over 2400(curb) both could be dropped to the lesser hundred by just taking out trunk material and spare tires....

Re: 3RD Gen again

yea, true, my friend did that to his GT, but lighting the rear end too much he found that it created too much wheel hop. But you have to admit 2500lbs for a RWD four seater is pretty light especially considering the motor weighs as much as it does. Oh yea, what your friend's 3rd Gen a liftback or coupe, cuz the lift backs weigh considerably more.
