turbo for my ka24e

do you think an sr20det t25 turbo would work in my ka24e turbo setup. Im having the manifold and downpipe custom built. What i want to know whats a safe psi level to set it to if im running it with stock injectors, fmu and Maf?? im also going to be using a sidemount interccoler from the same car. Thanks

what other things are a must to turbocharge.
so far i got a T25 turbo, manifold, downpipe, oil lines, and side mount intercooler. Is a boost controller, boost gauge or a turbo timer a must. Also what bov is the loudest one you guys know of.

Re: turbo for my ka24e

Get a boost gauge, a wastegate and I think the TurboXS RFL or something like that is damn loud.

Re: turbo for my ka24e

any bov that says "super sound" is loud, or has a little horn where it blows off.

gauge is necessity, else you dont know what boost your running. youve got most of the things for a basic turbo setup, besides a fuel computer, if you were going to use one to be safe.

my ka only has 60,000 miles on it so will that be a factor on psi level. what psi would be ideal for it with that mileage?

Re: turbo for my ka24e

check compression.. if its normal then i wouldn't go higher than 11.. even 11 wouldn't last very long, but ask nissanfanatic.. he's at about 10.5 on stock internals

Re: turbo for my ka24e

but not stock injectors, on the 370cc stock ones, dont go over 6psi, or heat consumes you

Re: turbo for my ka24e

PSI is just boost/pressure. It means nothing without flow.

350whp is about as far as you would want to go on stock internals reliably. Once again, your acceptable power level varies on engine condition among other things.

My advice, just do the norm T3/T04E 50trim w/.63ar turbine housing.

Note:BOVs get louder with more boost! Anything VTA is pretty loud. Greddy Type S is what I run. It scares old people, domestic drivers, kids, babies, dogs, pretty much anything. The TurboXS RFL is very loud. RFL=Really Freaking Loud. Your car will run like poop with no correction tho. At least get a SAFC w/DSM injectors. Then you can do about 240-250whp reliably.

Re: turbo for my ka24e

yeah, 370cc injectors or higher + Z32 (or comprarable) maf, remapped fuel and you'll be good till about 10-11 but thats driving like a good kid..

Re: turbo for my ka24e

370cc SR20 injectors don't fit the KA24E. It is a top feed setup stock.

Re: turbo for my ka24e

BS, I drive my car pretty hard. I did a 5mile race with a bike today. A week and a half ago, I did a 20mile race with a SS camaro. I boost daily. Just living proof that doing things correctly can get you a decent reliable setup.

The stock SR T25 is set at 7lbs. Since you're running stock everything, you won't need a boost controller for now. You want a boost guage to see what boost you're running. A turbo timer isn't a necessity, but it's good to have. HKS SSQ is pretty loud, it deff wakes up Sunday drivers w/ their windows down...

To make you're setup more reliable, I'd def upgrade fuel pump and injectors ASAP. Of course you'll need SAFC or ECU flash to run it, but stock KA injectors just won't keep up. When you're ready to make more power, just keep up with you're homework..

This is a pretty good thread
