Propane Conversion

I have been trying to find what the mileage is on late model trucks that have the propane conversion kits on them. But I am having no luck. Propane is significantly cheaper then gas here its around 55 cents where as regular gasoline is $1.00. In Canada!! I found a few older model F150 and F250 trucks with "Dual Fuel" meaning you can switch from gasoline to propane. Propane burns cleaner, but in winter they can be somewhat of a pain to start if left outside for a long time. If any of you have trucks with propane, what do you like and dislike about it. And what are some of your other thoughts.

Down here in the states, propane is currently about 15 cents higher than regular gas. I just filled up my tank at home and it was running about $2.50 a gallon when gas was $2.30. Mileage and performance on propane sucks too, so it is not too cost effective to switch.

A lot of delivery trucks, busses, cabs and police cars are set up to use CNG (compressed natural gas) which burns very clean, performs better, and does not get quite as bad mileage.

A lot of new vehicles that are marked "dual fuel" here are set up to run ethanol / gas blends of up top 15%. If you are lucky enough to be some where that sells it, it is about a third cheaper than straight gas thanks to heavy government subsidies.

Well here propane is half price of reg gasoline. It burns cleaner is better on the engine.

Diesel however is 3/4 price of reg gasoline. I am just trying to find a really really fuel efficient way to set up my new Ford 250 I will be buying. But I think diesel is the way to go. I will be driving it in the city for long periods of time. Almost like a delivery truck, but my idea will make me BILLION$

There are some new diesels that are getting great mileage, don't know if the f250 is one of them. The forecast for distillate fuels (diesel and heating oil) does not look good for it staying less expensive than gas. Diesel here is already as much or more as regular and it is creeping up in price on the world oil markets.

I am looking into electric, but the major draw back is that you can't go far, maybe 400 miles. Depends on how many batteries you use.

Do any of you guys have additional information on Electric Vehicles. SUV's and Trucks. I like the new Ford Hybrids, chevy has some nice ones to.
