Fuel filter location 90 Grand Prix

new to the board and have already found some good info on a 90 Grand Prix... 36k original miles. My 90 year old Father in law drives it.

It has a heavy hesitation- stutter when accelerating and figured I'd start off with the fuel filter.
I tried injector cleaner and no difference,,, it even hesitates at high speed so maybe the filter is clogged. I've seen few clogged filter btw.

anyway where is teh fuel filter located on a 90 4dr Grand Prix

the fuel filter is located just forward of the gas tank under the rear of the car. Check fuel pressure at the rail, as the pump and regulator may be gummed up with varnish due to the ultra-low mileage. One other thing to check is the IAC valve, the pintle may be gummed up which will affect off idle and part throttle operation.
