spec v add ons

i just got a 2002 sentra SE-R spec v and love it. i was wondering what i can do to make it even faster. i dont want to spend too much money, i know its hard to make a car faster without spending money. besides a cold air intake, what else can i do to add some horses

Re: spec v add ons

where do you live for starters?
do you have to smog your car?
this is a pretty complete list of bolt ons but choose what you want
get hotshot or nismo CAI with JWT POP charger or apex'i power intake filter on it
hotshot headers(without cat if you live where it doesnt matter
JWT balance shaft removal kit(zip tie down all wiring harnesses after you put it in so they dont rattle around and break)
any 2.5 inch exhaust(good quality one will make some diff)
i think quaife makes an LSD if you really know your stuff(they arent easy to put in)
other than that, for a daily driver get NISMO S-tune coilovers, or comparable ones
strut bars
and a decent set of tires

oh yeah, you will be surprised how much of a difference lightweight wheels will make in handling, acceleration, ect.
preferrably less than 15 lbs, but dont go higher than 17 lbs or you wont notice it as much

good source for wheels by weight and size
http://www.wheelweights.net/

this is all opinions but the parts i listed are good quality and will serve you well

brands to look for are hotshot, nismo(obviously), stillen, JWT, and then the usual import brands(HKS, apex'i, ect.)

Don't forget the Heavy Duty clutch and lightweight flywheel! BIG diff there.

Hopefully your spec won't be a POS like mine. I don't have it for more than three weeks at a time before I have to get something fixed and i'm not even joking. Good luck... PS- my car is in the shop right now!

oh yeah, sorry

if you are daily driver id recommend no higher than stage 2 or else your calf muscle will hurt for months and it will be a pain in the ass to drive in traffic

and a street lightened flywheel so your engine doesnt die everytime you pull up to a stopsign.

underdrive pullies help too, but make sure they are the same diameter as stock or else your alternator, power steering, water pump, ect wont work as well because if they are smaller, they wont spin as fast and if they are bigger they may overwork themselves.

Yes, I'd say go for an ACT HDSS clutch kit or equivalent. A full disc, not a puck disc. And yes, slideways, you're right. Don't go below 10lbs on the flywheel. Mine's 8.5 and it dies every now and then from the revs dropping too fast.
